 Report by: Janak Boro  (ASI - EDU) A very enriching workshop has been just concluded. The ASI-Edu team of all the four districts (Nalbari, Baksa, Goalpara and Bongaigaon) as well as some teachers of project schools participated. The workshop was facilitated by Mizanur Rahman, a member of State Resource Group, E-content development. Assam. It was resourceful for all the participants. The covid-19 has put restriction in physical classroom teaching. The ASI-Education, has already initiated the online process. As soon as the schools were declared closed in phased manner, we began home based support with small group of children. But restriction in movement has put halt in this attempt. Learning from previous lockdown has helped us to take the alternate step immediately.   Mintho Sangma       Derek is one of the oldest, most significant, and  memorable villages among the Garo villages in  Goalpara (Assam). The population of the village is more than 2,500. The main sources of the village are cultivation, gardening and so on, and people mostly depend on natural resources. The river Jinjiram flows through the face of the village and people could depend on it for fishing. Numerous streams flow from the hills within and around the village and irrigate the cultivating fields. The village was very much greenish in summer because of the paddy cultivation. At the earliest, the village was covered with thick jungles with numerous wild animals. Later, as the population grows the wild animals began to disappear moving behind to the deeper jungles.     Online Teachers meet. Organized by: Assam State Initiative – Education Centre for Microfinance & Livelihood (CML) supported by Tata Trusts. Date: July 15, 202; Time: 11:00 am -2:15: pm   Objective: To get engaged with teachers in online learning process for children. Share our initiative in online process of reaching out to our target students. To seek their suggestion and also to offer our support in reaching out the other students besides target students in those schools. গগন লহকৰ           জৈৱিক সাৰৰ ব্যৱহাৰ  বৰ্তমান সময়ত একেবাৰে কম পৰিমানে হয়। কিন্তু জৈৱিক সাৰ ব্যৱহাৰে মানৱ জীৱনত কিমান উপকাৰ সাধন কৰে আমাৰ ভাবিবলৈ এবাৰো সময় নাই। বৰ্তমান ধান খেতি কৰাৰ সময়, এই সময়তে কিমান কৃষকে নিজৰ শস্যৰ পৰিমাণ বঢ়াবলৈ ৰয়াসিনক সাৰ প্ৰয়োগ কৰিব তাৰ কোনো হিচাপ নাই। গতিকে আমি জৈৱিক সাৰ ব্যৱহাৰৰ উপকাৰিতা সম্পৰ্কে মানুহক সজাগ কৰি ইয়াৰ ব্যৱহাৰ তথা পৰিমাণ বৃদ্ধি কৰিব লাগে। জৈৱিক সাৰ ব্যৱহাৰৰ উপযোগিতা সমূহ যেনে- ১) জৈৱিক সাৰৰ ব্যৱহাৰে মাটিৰ গুণাগুণ নষ্ট নকৰে। ২) জৈৱিক সাৰৰ ব্যৱহাৰে পৰিবেশৰ ভাৰসাম্য বজাই ৰখাত সহায় কৰে। ৩) জৈৱিক সাৰৰ ব্যৱহাৰে মাটিত থকা বিভিন্ন কীট-পতঙ্গৰ কোনো ধৰণৰ অনিষ্ট সাধন নকৰে। ৪) জৈৱিক সাৰে মাটিৰ উৰ্বৰা শক্তি বৃদ্ধি কৰে। ৫) জৈৱিক সাৰৰ ব্যৱহাৰ কম খৰচী হয়।           এইবোৰ উপযোগিতা আমাৰ কৃষক সকলক অৱগত কৰোৱা আমাৰ দায়িত্ব। লগতে জৈৱিক সাৰৰ ব্যৱহাৰ আৰু পৰিমাণ বৃদ্ধি কৰাত ভূমিকা লোৱা উচিত।

Their teen daughter smiled for no reason. One of his junior colleagues told him that the matter would be considered in the board meeting   next week.   That night his wife was angry for something else.   The ‘Online’ learning, in the recent past was either not known to many or even if someone knew, it wasn’t considered important as a point of discussion at least in the context of learning for school children.  One reason is that rural population still has limited access to this kind of development including many teachers if not all. Secondly, learning has, so far, been seen in association with the syllabus, contents, examination, grade, marks.
