Workshop on E-content development

A very enriching workshop has been just concluded. The ASI-Edu team of all the four districts (Nalbari, Baksa, Goalpara and Bongaigaon) as well as some teachers of project schools participated.

The workshop was facilitated by Mizanur Rahman, a member of State Resource Group, E-content development. Assam.

It was resourceful for all the participants.

The covid-19 has put restriction in physical classroom teaching. The ASI-Education, has already initiated the online process. As soon as the schools were declared closed in phased manner, we began home based support with small group of children. But restriction in movement has put halt in this attempt.

Learning from previous lockdown has helped us to take the alternate step immediately. We had already prepared a data base of students and their contact numbers, students with smart phone, students with basic phone, clubbing the students in their neighbor. Whatsapp groups are formed in all the four working districts with proper distribution of responsibility of task among the districts team. Plan and schedule was prepared for reaching out to children, sharing online contents and feedback mechanism. Teachers of the project schools are also formed part of whatsapp group.

To enhance the capability of our team and to improve the quality of online content that are shared with the students, several steps are taken. Some of the process done for improving team capability are-Internal assessment of team in English, MIL, connecting content and learning outcomes at different level, basic use of mobile for sharing online contents. 

In order to improving team capability in use of technology in education especially for children, online workshop on E-content development was organized for a week, all the team members are taught to

  1. Understand the copyright rules and how to distinguish the online materials having copyright from those which are free.
  2. Use of different software that are simple and free to prepare e-contents.
  3. Use of Microsoft power point to make presentation, adding animation and audio in power point.
  4. Editing video and audio to prepare interesting and suitable learning material for children.
  5. Making video from combination of different single photos.
