FLN Capacity Building Online Workshops



District Level Online Capacity Building Sessions in Google Meet


The FLN Team has been engaged in capacity-building online sessions on a weekly basis. These sessions have focused on social issues like Child Labor, Child Marriage and Child Trafficking which are very pre-dominant in Baksa, Bongaigaon and Goalpara. Therefore, Advocacy Campaigns will be organized and implemented in these 3 districts as per programme objectives.
After two presentations in the last month, Mosaddique Hussain presented a session on Child Marriage on 2nd December 23. Following the session, interactive quizzes were held on 6th Dec, 9th Dec and 14th Dec by Quizmasters; Asmita Kalita on Child Trafficking, Mousumi Haloi on Child Labor, Debendra Nama Das on Child Marriage and Papori Kalita on RTE Act of 2009 respectively.
The quizzes were very informative and added new perspectives to the case studies that were discussed by the education facilitators (EFs) who had shared local stories on child labor, child marriage and child trafficking in their districts.

OSC Village Surveys


OSC Village Survey in Bongaigaon















Education  Facilitators  of  Baksa, Bongaigaon and Goalpara have been extensively engaged in conducting home visits to survey out of school children. Out of School children primarily comprises of children who have either dropped out from their schools or have never enrolled into schools. The identification of these OSCs are then verified in discussions with the village community before they are brought into the motivational camps.

Motivational Camps

Motivational Camp in Naravita, Bongaigaon

Motivational Camps have been initiated in Bongaigaon after the identification of Out of School Children Survey. One such camp was held in Kacharipety High School in Bongaigaon from 26th December 2023 to to 4th January 2024, where 34 children who were identified as OSCs participated in the camp. Education Facilitators Firoja Khatun, Aysha Khatun and Samiya Khatun facilitated the 10-day camp. 
Another motivational camp was held from 27th December 2023, in Naravita village, Bongaigaon where 40 children attended the camp as newly identified OSCs. EFs, Latifa Ahmed, Wohasifa Khatun and Arjina Parbin were the assigned facilitators for this camp.

Foundational Numeracy Training

Foundational Numeracy Training at Agia, Goalpara

A 2-day capacity building session was held on 27th and 28th December, 2023 in Agia, Goalpara Office, facilitated by Benny George, Area Manager of Northeast from the Tata Trust Board. The 2-day session was inaugurated by Leorina Sangma, the Head Teacher of the Bokdo LP School.
Important pointers were discussed on number concepts, operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of single digits number using TLM (Teaching Learning Materials), Shapes (2D, 3D, patterns, series, Measurements in lengths, time, weight, etc.). In terms of Data handling, collection of data, pictogram, telly bar, bar diagram, etc. were discussed.

Distribution of 100 Computer Peripherals

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) – Bangalore had donated 100 sets of used Computer peripherals comprising Monitor, Keyboard, Optical Mouse and Display Cables. The monitors are already distributed in different schools to enhance the access of students to computers.
The monitors are provided to those schools where some existing monitor’s display was not clear or had CPU without monitors. Thus, all the 100 monitors are distributed to 45 schools across 5- districts.

SMDC Meeting (School Management Development Committeee)

The purpose of SMDC meeting is to seek their support to keep IT lab functional and sustainability of the same. During the month of December 2023, the SMDC meeting was organized on the same day of intra school event in schools, so that they also observe the project presentation of the students.
Then, a detailed presentation of the TBSI is shared with SMDC members and parents including the objective of TBSI - ITE, CLIx, Khan Academy, coverage, challenges and achievements so far.
The main points of discussion during the SMDC meeting were mostly based on the TBSI Project and its’ objectives, number of districts and schools, the present condition of computer labs and the process of repairing, Digital literacy camp during the summer and winter holidays, CLIx for Communicative English, wareness on Khan Academy for mathematics and how students can access and benefits, demonstration of KA website and its contents and the demonstration of KA website and its contents.
During the month of December total 18 such SMDC meetings were completed.

Intra School Event

Intra School Event at Jhargaon High School

During the intra school event, students present their project in the school. The event is organized by TF (Technical Facilitators) in their respective schools. Before the event, TFs along with the teachers check the number of projects prepared by different group of students. The good projects (4-5 numbers) are identified and the groups are asked to prepare for presentation. TFs schedule a date in discussion with the headmaster of the school for the event. On the scheduled date Head master, teachers, other students and parents are invited to the event. The selected projects are presented one by one by each group. An award is given to the participants followed by a light refreshment arranged by TFs for the participants.
During December 23, intra school events have been conducted in 18 schools across 5 districts.
